Four more — John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn — "American Idol" hopefuls are out the door as the Top 20 is weeded down to the Top 16 for next week’s performances. But before the ousted four return to their hometowns, they talk to ET about their "Idol" experience.

"I was expecting it a little bit," admits John. "When they started calling names, I thought it might be my time. In the past two weeks, I felt a little out of place because a lot of the contestants have a very solid understanding of their own sound and artistry. For myself, I haven’t figured myself out as an artist, so I was confused on song choices and stuff like that."

Michelle, on the other hand, admits that her departure took her by surprise: "I know my performance on Wednesday was not the best, but I was surprised because I felt I had so much more to offer. I wasn’t basing it on the performance; I was basing it on the fact that I felt okay. It seemed as if something big was going to happen and this was the path to get me there, so I was surprised when the journey was over."
