Pakistan sends condolences to India on plane crash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Saturday sent its condolences to India’’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the deaths of 159 people in an Air India plane crash earlier in the day. “I was deeply shocked to learn of the tragic crash of an Air India Express aircraft this morning in Karnataka, resulting in the loss of many precious lives,” Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said in the message to Singh. “On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan and on my own behalf, I would like to convey our deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families,” Gilani added.

The winner was announced at the Grand Finale of the show on Friday night.

Shakti who was already famous among the fans of the show belonged to the team of Terrence Lewis team, ‘Terrence Ki Toli’. She won the title with 7, 34, 140 votes.The other finalists were Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande and Binny Sharma.Meanwhile, Dharmesh Yelande was on second position and Punit Pathak came third.

Shakti Mohan quoted after she was announced the winner, “The journey has been really awesome. Yousuf Raza Gilani Shakes Hand With Indian PM Manmohan Singh

WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani shook hands with Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh at a reception hosted by the US President Barack Obama, reports said.

The leaders of Pakistan and India have met at a nuclear security summit in Washington.Yousuf Raza Gilani spoke to Manmohan Singh during a reception.

A Pakistani embassy spokesman said it was “not a formal meeting”.

“Both leaders were present at the same place and so they shook hands and talked,” he said.

A spokesman for India’s foreign ministry, Vishnu Prakash, told an Indian newspaper that the two leaders “exchanged pleasantries”.

India Test-Fired Ballistic Missiles

According to Defence sources, the missile was fired from INS-Subhadra in the Bay of Bengal near Puri by Indian Navy personnel as part of training exercise. The 350-km range nuclear-capable ‘Dhanush’ missile is a naval version of ‘Prithvi’.

The sophisticated radar systems located along the coast monitored the entire trajectory of the vehicle.
